2015 Roofing Project: Holy Trinity Catholic Church

Church roofing is some of the most meaningful work we do, and the 2015 project at Holy Trinity Catholic Church tested every skill our crews have developed over twenty-plus years in Minnesota. Steeples concentrate wind, snow and ice in ways ordinary roofs never see, and a congregation deserves a roof that honors both the building and its budget.

The existing roof had reached the end of its service life, with aging shingles and flashing that no longer shed water the way the original builders intended. After a full inspection and consultation with the parish committee, we recommended a stone-coated steel system, chosen for its longevity, its resistance to Minnesota freeze-thaw cycles, and its classic profile that suits sacred architecture.

Installation demanded careful planning around the worship calendar. Our teams phased the work to keep the church open for weekend services, protected the stained glass below with reinforced decking barriers, and coordinated the steeple section with the crane operator down to the hour. Minnesota weather offered its usual opinions, and we adjusted.

The finished roof sheds our famous winters effortlessly and should serve the parish for decades with minimal maintenance. Projects like this one are why we treat every church as a landmark, because to the community inside, it is one.
