Metro Roofing Newsletter — Issue 12
One year of newsletters. To celebrate, issue twelve answers the twelve questions we hear most often, rapid-fire style, with the same honesty we bring to estimates.
Can you replace a roof in winter? Yes, with materials and methods chosen for the temperature, and we do it every season. Will metal rust? Modern galvanized and Galvalume steels are engineered for decades; coastal salt is their enemy, not our snow. Is a second layer of shingles okay? We vote no, tear-off reveals the deck's truth. Do solar panels and metal roofs get along? Beautifully, mounting is simpler and life expectancy matches. What color hides hail dents best? Textured and darker finishes forgive more than glossy whites.
How long does an install take? Most homes, two to three crew days. Will it be loud? Yes, and your pets will inform you. Do you haul away the old roof? Everything, with magnets for the strays. Can I see a roof you installed nearby? Happily, we keep a list by city. Do you fix gutters? We do. Why did my last roofer disappear? We have wondered too; we plan to stay.
